Is Herbal Essences for black people hair too? (HELP!!!)?

Umm do yall think that Herbal Essences: Dangerously Straight would work on black people's hair (I'm not racist) but I only seen white people who use it, but I'm black do you think it'll work for my hair?Is Herbal Essences for black people hair too? (HELP!!!)?
the best you could do is try it.

given the texture of your hair it might not work as well as it might on a caucasian person, but it still might do a world of good.

you could always ask your hairdresser's opinion on it and if they would suggest another shampoo that is more suitableIs Herbal Essences for black people hair too? (HELP!!!)?
no
I'm not so sure...try it out.
I dont understand y it wouldnt
ya it works but it doesnt make your hair strait it is for strait hair
No, is for any hair, blond or black, the shampoo is a good shampoo.
It might it should we dont wash our hair everyday because it doesnt get as greasy my hair is black and white so i can use any shampoo it should work though try it
The best way to find out is to call the manufacture, and ask them. You don't want to be putting stuff in your hair, and not know what it will do. Good luck :)
Well, I dont think it would work. All those white people that do hair and make shampoos normaly dont think about black people's hair... o, wait, my mom just told me that she used it and it worked... so just try it! =P
well i used it, and im half white, and it didnt do shnitzel.
i think so.

What is the best way to make black peoples hair like white ppl without chemicals and straighteners?

ok well i can see you are very distraught about your hair you have like 50 million questions about it.....

1. THE ONLY WAY YOU ARE GOING TO GET YOUR HAIR EXACTLY LIKE WHITE PEOPLES IS IF YOU ARE WHITE

2. THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN GET IT STRAIGHT IS IF YOU USE A CHEMICAL.

3. you cant change genetics we are not that technologically advance to make hair a certain way yet

4. Micheal Jacksons hair only looks like white peoples because he pays people thousands of dollars to do his hair and also he puts chemicals on it

5. BE HAPPY THAT YOU HAVE HAIR SOME PEOPLE DONT HAVE ANY

whoever made you look the way you did is for a reason you were created in his image if you are religiousWhat is the best way to make black peoples hair like white ppl without chemicals and straighteners?

  • Need serious help on BLACK PEOPLE hair!?

My hair gets really really dry when I wash it. Even when i use shampoos that are guaranteed to lock in moisture it doen't help. I talked to my salon person who just gave me some shampoo. ( which does not work). My mom says I should not wash until like three months, but I want to wash my hair because it gets dirty easily. Any advice? (and of course I am a black person) And i have a wave nouveau. ( which I hate and my mom wont let me change my style until it grows out more)Need serious help on BLACK PEOPLE hair!?
Pantene for Women of Color works very well.......... BUY THE WHOLE LINE OF PRODUCTSNeed serious help on BLACK PEOPLE hair!?
Dont use a commercial / branded shampoo as these tend to strip black hair of moisture. I personally use Lusters olive oil shampoo and use a leave in conditioner twice a week. Obviously straightening / perms will make your hair dry so a regular trim and high end black hair styling products are a must. The best advice is to try samples of each brand, as all black hair reacts different, till you find one you are happy with. This may take a while!!! Try searching online a websites such as blackhair.com for their rated products.
3 months to wash is waaaaaaaaaay tooo long. I wash my hair every week, but if i put certain chemicals inside it I wash it 3 weeks then once a week. Dirty Hair is not going ot help your hair growth at all.

Could someone please tell me why do black people hair break off a lot faster than white people hair.?

that has been an unsolved question for a long time, because black people keep the hair washed and oiled almost daily, but still have problems with breakage, what can be done about this,we as a black person has to keep our hair oiled, greased, and washed at least one a week, but that doesnt stopp the breakage, could it be something from the inner body such as nerves disoder.....some one please help with thisCould someone please tell me why do black people hair break off a lot faster than white people hair.?
Even though most black people do not want to hear it it is not what we don't do to our hair that makes it break it's what we do to it. All the perms dyes heavy washing combing too much grease not enough conditioning etc. I had to cut off all my hair just to get it to grow back healthy. Society has it instilled in us that straight like white people hair is good but in reality the healthiest hair is exactly how it grows out your scalp. Give me a mail and i can give you more info vypah357@yahoo.com contrary to common belief all hair is made out of the same thing white and black its all protein .Could someone please tell me why do black people hair break off a lot faster than white people hair.?
If you are experiencing this problem try the Kiehls Scalp Oil, the link is below.

In addition, not going to a professional and doing it yourslef on the regular, is not a good idea. You need to visit w/ a stylist at least every two weeks, every week would actually get your going in the right direction.

A weave or braids will also help protect your hair, but you have to maintain it too.
I'm not black but my black friends have told me that it's to do with the make-up of the hair itself - because it's so tightly curled it's quite brittle - you will also find that white people with curly hair will have more breakage than those with straight hair. If you use hair extensions or weaves or straightening solutions that will make it worse as it dries the hair and puts stress on it, so it will break more easily.

My friend just decided to go with what she had and so she's got quite short hair, but it looks beautiful and really suits her.

By the way yytiyt, you've been reported.
Its called hair processing. Every 8 wks perming hair to get it straight. If you keep it natural its more healthy. White people don't use chemicals just blowdryers and hotirons. We use chemicals and heatstyling. Half the time white people don't even use heat tools. That helps their hair stay healthier.
IT DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH HUMDITY IS IN THE AIR. IN NORTH AMERICA THE HAIR BECOMES BRITTLE.,, TOO MUCH PROCESSING TO MAKE TO HAIR LOOK BETTER ----WITH THIS PROBLEM MAKES IT WORSE---ALOT OF DECENT PRODUCTS AREN'T ALWAYS AVAILABLE HERE..EITHER
maybe becuase they don't need much of the hair, i mean they look better bald...

I need help growing black people hair?

i have trouble growing my hair can someone give me some tip on how to grow hair fastI need help growing black people hair?
they make an ';olive oil'; product thats supposed to stimulate your roots

and it's GNC not GM you tart ^^^I need help growing black people hair?
You can't grow your hair as fast as you want it to grow. It will only grow at its' own pace. Do you do relaxers? Stop doing it. It will cause damage to your hair. If not, and you still want your hair to be straight, I'd only relax it every 12 weeks. Every 4 weeks will kill it. And if you want it curly and healthy then every 4 months. Just keep it washed and conditioned, and don't clog it up using hair grease and conditioners that have artificial coloring in it and petroleum jelly in it. It just clogs it.
    1. Buy a High Quality Hair Growth Product

I suggest you go all-natural. Unnatural hair care products are a no-no for someone who wants long-lasting, healthy hair growth. Find a hair growth product that contains powerful essential oils, natural herbs, and vitamin rich nutrients your hair needs to survive. Look for products with ingredients such as the aformentioned Aloe Vera, Citrus Fruits, Jojoba, Rosemary, and Sage. Make sure you stay away from all natural products that use natural extracts. Extracts are not as powerful as essentials oils. They are a cheap substitute for the real thing. Although there are several natural hair care products on the market, not all hair growth products are created equal. Make sure you read the fine print. Most “natural” products still contain phosphates, sodium lauryl sulfate, petroleum, mineral oil, and other lab created humectants that ultimately damage your hair. My advice---if you can’t read the ingredients, don’t buy the product. When I was searching for a natural hair growth product, I found one really great buy, Beauty 4 Ashes Super Hair Growth System. Finding this company took me awhile; but Beauty 4 Ashes pretty much gives you everything you need to make your hair grow. Foremost, I checked the ingredient listings and the products contained no artificial ingredients. The system also included hair growth vitamins, a great hair healthy eating plan, and even scalp stimulating hair growth exercise routine. At first, the system may seem a bit pricey, but, boy was I impressed with the results. In 9 months, I went from patches of hair to hair just above my shoulders. Now, I am no product junkie; but I have to tell you that this product is worth the money. It does not cost an arm and leg and it is worth every penny you pay. You can find it easily at www.discoverb4a.com. Also, check for it on Ebay. You may actually find a deal.

    2. A Healthy Hair Eating Plan

Your hair is all protein. Thus, you need a protein rich diet, chocked fill of B Vitamins and other hair-strengthening nutrients. Increase your intake of fish. It is full of healthy proteins and essential fatty acids and natural oils your hair needs. In addition, drink a protein supplement or shake everyday. If you follow this plan, not only will your hair grow, but you will also lose weight. That is, of course, if you lay off the junk food. Remember, I warned you too much junk food above.

    3. Drink Water

Eight to ten glasses of water is an absolute requirement. Drinking water flushes your body of toxins, chemicals, and impurities that stifle your hair growth and disrupt your hormone and enzyme imbalances. Water also transports the important nutrients your body needs throughout your body. Hate drinking water? Add lemon and Splenda to have a healthy, tasty alternative
Your hair wil grow moderately fast if you stay away from heat, damaging chemicals, drink plenty of water and keep protein and moisture(in combination and balance) in your hair regimen, you should see gratifying results.

Black people hair care, and its some serious perm damage! HELP!?

Ok so my friend has had pretty thick black hair all her life, she got a perm about a year ago. and it broke her hair sooo bad. its pretty ruined, i mean its still about shoulder length, but its bad, its really thin in some areas of her head (no, not bald, just thin) and she was too embarrased to ask on here, so i did it for her.

Do you know any hair grow products (For black people, cuz she tried alot of other stuff from commercials and stuff but it duznt work) so please please, any suggestions? Its almost graduation PLEASE she has to look cute for graduation.

p.s she already tried Dr. Miricles (i dunno how it spelled) and its not working... so please help!!!

THANKS!!!!!Black people hair care, and its some serious perm damage! HELP!?
First off her ends need to be trimmed. The hair will not grow or style properly with the damaged ends. Secondly, she will need a deep conditioning treatment (Infusium 23, Creme of Nature, or Pantene Pro-V). I would recommend that she go into a salon, she needs a hair care professional, from your description this isn't a do-it-yourself job.

Another option would be going natural, after the trim she should try braids at least until her hair is healthy again.Black people hair care, and its some serious perm damage! HELP!?

she really needs to go to a salon, so they can help her get back on track..I am talking about a real salon, a good salon wouldn't put heat in her head after such bad damage.. She might need a good hot oil treatment, and a good deep conditioning

Do other races have problems with black people hair?

I had a crush on a white guy that I went to school with but he didn`t like me because I had braids and after I took them out and had my hair straighten I finally got attentionDo other races have problems with black people hair?
I can't believe he said he didn't like you because you had braids but then liked you when you got it straightened. At least he was honest to tell you he didn't like your hair in braids, he must be superficially to only date black guys with straight hair. Why would you change your hair just to please a superficial person?Do other races have problems with black people hair?
Errr i don't really care....afros are weird. But that is the only hair cut that is strongly associated with black guys that i don't like. I wouldn't reject a guy over it though :P
Girl ,You are desperate! Why change yourself for some close-minded person like that guy. Stop looking for attention and love yourself, ay!
    No. That guy has problems!
No not me. I'm not superficial like the guy you are talking about.
what!! braids are the bomb you shouldn't have to change yourself for others im sure they looked good

no seriously you didn't get attention all over braids?? there's something wrong with that!!!!!
That's just people trying to stay close to what they know. If they can't accept you with your braids, don't be hurt. They are the ones missing out (cliche, right?). But really, you shouldn't feel that you need to straighten it to get attention.
Personally I like braids. I also like dreads. I was raised to be open minded so black, white or polka dotted it doesn't matter to me :)
If this guy doesn't like you fro you than his loss don't change for others. also the dude above me talking about how braids look dirty boy-stop my braids are always on point I just normal were my hair down or in a ponytail peace (lol)
the person that like you HAVE to like the way you are...you dont have to change anything for anyone...
Braids are a real turn off. It's not natural %26amp; it feels awful to the touch.

I feel they are on a par with dreadlocks - they always look dirty.
So what if they do? That's their problem, not mines!
yea so?? Everyone has there own taste.
Each person has his own aesthetic. And an aesthetic, by its very nature, is discriminatory; there's nothing wrong with that.

If you are happy with braids, then re-braid your hair and find someone to whom that style appeals.
Nope. The hair is the hair. Thats it
I don't see anything wrong with it. The differentness of it is a good thing, I think. There's also something appealing about keeping hair natural.

Are there any other white girls with black people hair ???

I have ethnic hair, and I'm white.. I got it done .. not knowing I'd have to keep perming it .. Now I'm stuck with black people hair ... and people always asking me if I'm mixed .. I'm not racist .. I just want to know if theres other white people like me.. if so .. where can I find some pix?Are there any other white girls with black people hair ???
Cut it off.Are there any other white girls with black people hair ???
    yes, there are lots
I have friends that are born with this hair and they are all white! Don't worry!
I don't see how getting a perm would make you have black girls hair. That's weird to me. Maybe that chemical needs to grow out of your hair or cut out and the your normal hair will grow back.

  • Is it me or does it take black peoples hair longer to grow? because i feel like my hair takes years to grow .?

I mean its on my shoulders but it feels like it won't get any longer. Is it me or does it take black peoples hair longer to grow? because i feel like my hair takes years to grow .?
No, it is not just you. The person above me must have some white in her. It takes years for my hair to grow back, too! I chopped off all of my hair in 2005, damn near bald. Now 2 years later, I am now able to put my hair up.Is it me or does it take black peoples hair longer to grow? because i feel like my hair takes years to grow .?
It depends on your genetics. My mom's hair grows fast, as does mine. She relaxes her hair; I don't. I got 4 inches cut off in January this year. It wasn't reaching my shoulders when I stretched it out back then. Now, my hair is between my shoulder blades.in the back.
It is you. My hair has grown so much after I chop it off. I cut my hair so many times but it also grew back so fast.

Now my hair is to my shoulder blades. What I started to do to promote hair growth was scalp message while using Doo Gro Thickening Lotion. I message my scalp at least three times a week.
    Just you.

My mom's hair grows like crazy after it's been cut, and mine grows at a little bit slower due to the fact that I don't really give it all the attention it needs (too much hair to deal with sometimes). It still comes in pretty fast, though.

All Black women will not grow hair the same way. Hair growth ties in with genetics, not race.

I have black peoples hair. How can I grow bangs faster?

I am African-American so my hair usually takes a lot longer to grow out and to be straightened. I really really REALLY want to grow out my bangs because the idiot of a hair stylist cut it about a centimeter above my eyebrow. What are the best methods in order to grow out my bangs? Remember, African American hair.I have black peoples hair. How can I grow bangs faster?
There are certain herbal pills that are supposed to make your hair and nails grow faster... I don't know much about them but you can google it... other than that just iron your bangs out as much as you can and live with it under that centimeter grows back...

Getting bad haircuts suck =\I have black peoples hair. How can I grow bangs faster?
use a flat iron daily but not to often where it dries out then

    condition it daily good luck
i kno right? well right now u might just have 2 live with em im african american 2
My bangs grow faster than the rest of my hair, I think its cause I flat iron them more and comb them more,,,the just get more attention. Try trimming them a lil a month,,, hopefully it doesnt take that long but it'l work...hang in there
    Mmmmmm...........I don't know? But that stuff...........never last!
    use a flat iron daily
    From 1 Sista 2 Another...

Hair tends to grow out faster during the Summer months, so you're in luck. If I were you I'd just get some mirco braids and leave them in for about a month in a half.

Lets say you didn't want to do the braids...keep your hair clean and well conditioned. Maintain a healthy diet eat more fruits and vegetables. Think hair nails and skin...you know your hair is healthy when your nails are strong and your skin is clear. Healthy hair grows faster!
use your hair straightener each time to keep them straight and brush them daily to the sides this stimulates the hair follicle and the straightening helps look longer while they grow..

and get plenty of sleep..hair grows daily in our sleep..

so get an extra hour of sleep to help grow your hair faster...

Why are black peoples hair different then white people's hair?

hotter climate, thicker, curlier hair traps more sweat and moistureWhy are black peoples hair different then white people's hair?
genes ^_^Why are black peoples hair different then white people's hair?
different races have different traits stop being an idiot
    Because it is....

    why?
different ethnicity's. I really hate y'all here. I just come here to see how retarded people can be...
    I don't know.....just how God made it.....
    George is correct.
why is white peoples skin different from black people's
    Because it is?
Why are white people's hair different than black people's hair?
Get out a microscope and look at a black hair and a white hair. The white hair is round where the black hair is square. This applies to many Mediterranian peoples. I have a picture of my wife in a ';Jewfro'; (popular style in the early 70's) I've also known Lebanese and Greeks with ';kinky'; hair
becauses its different race, silly people.
    Google it!

    Peace!

You can get a deep conditioner treatment. You can also have them cut off all the damaged hair. Do you have a relaxer? If so, I would reccomend deep conditioning your hair every week and cutting back on the use of curling and flat irons.

I don't see how getting a perm would make you have black girls hair. That's weird to me. Maybe that chemical needs to grow out of your hair or cut out and the your normal hair will grow back. Are there any other white girls with black people hair ???
    Cut it off.
I have friends that are born with this hair and they are all white! Don't worry!
    yes, there are lots

    Black people hair care?

My hair is braking off crazy and i don't know what todo. i want to go to the salon so i can get treatment. what can they do so that my hair will be healthier and softer. thanks for the helpBlack people hair care?
You can get a deep conditioner treatment. You can also have them cut off all the damaged hair. Do you have a relaxer? If so, I would reccomend deep conditioning your hair every week and cutting back on the use of curling and flat irons.

    Google it!

    Peace!

  • Does black people hair type need oil on it? I heard it doesn't our hair doesn't need any oil at all.?

We need some or our hair would be dry and brittle and our scalp would be dry and with dandruff...so its best to use hair lotions and oil sheen every 2 days or soDoes black people hair type need oil on it? I heard it doesn't our hair doesn't need any oil at all.?
No our hair does to need oil,of your natural and have curly dry hair you do need something to keep your hair moist i have relaxed hair and it's rellt fine and thin i dont need any oil but i do oil it when my roots start to come in (next touch up)Does black people hair type need oil on it? I heard it doesn't our hair doesn't need any oil at all.?
I sure do. It makes my hair feel softer and look shinier. Plus it helps protect it from all the processing I do to it.

Then I'm mixed so I'm not sure it's for all black people.
most blacks use that hair brand called olive oil. they got perms shampoo conditioner carrot oil for damaged and over processed hair and everything else you need. they got stuff for men too
black hair already has natural oil. if you add oil, itll look greasy.

How to grow black people hair?

racistHow to grow black people hair?
Okay all type of hair grow whether your black, white, asian, latino, or some other race. It really doesn't matter. Also you should be more detailed in your answers and state whether your hair is relaxed or natural.

If you have natural african-american hair go here :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjXX9zIfz鈥?/a>

If you have relaxed african-american hair go here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8k38YuLA鈥?/a>

Why is my hair so dry like black people hair? ?

I am not going to dignify that with an answer.

    Black people hair???

im black and all other races have that good hair, you know what i mean, the long silky kind of hair. well black people hair aint that easy to work with, once it touches water, poof! fucced up hair already!

well school is coming up and i wanna look as pertty as i always do and i cant come up with any ideas on how to style my hair. plees helpBlack people hair???
Something that is easy and low maintenance would be getting a wrap. It is easy and if it s done right it can be very pretty. You can also flat iron your hair to give it that silky straight look as well. One other idea is that you could go to the hairdresser and get some layers and have them ';feather'; your hair, that looks really pretty as well.Black people hair???
dont say dat!! like chinese ppl hav bad hair too! most hav real dry hair and looks gross!! (no offence, asians!) try usin hair straightenin iron. dat might work....or did u already try dat? o well,,gd luckk
It all depends on your whole face and head...but I'ma say...

    AFRO.
umm...it doesn't say if your hair is natural or not but i'm guessing since you say when your hair touches water it poofs that you are. you should go to www.motowngirl.com if you are. you also didn't give any detail about your length so the best i can tell you if your hair is chemically straightened is to get a rollerwrap. you can then leave your hair down, put it in a ponytail, do spiral curls, or flip curls...or with either type hair, you can always go with braids...by the way black people do have good hair, just because it's not silky doesn't make it any less good. my hair is healthy, soft, beautiful and all natural.
even though im white i have hair pretty similar to yours. its really really curly and stiff and i cant do anything with it. unfortunately my mom wont let me chemically straighten it bc she doesnt want me to ruin my hair. i have a friend in school who has hair exactly like yours and she got her whole head done in tiny tiny braids and it looked really cute. i think that would be a good idea or you could try chemically straightening it. good luck!
First dont get your hair wet

Second go to the beauty shop

Third when you go to the beauty shop get it styled real good

    Fourth dont mess it up

Fifth tie your hair up every night

But last but not least you all good

    Black people hair?

How can I straighten black people hair until it looks like a perm? I don't have pressing oil or anything.. But my friend needs helpBlack people hair?
Get a perm, don't be cheap.Black people hair?
Okay, you have to get some straightening oil sheen spray or you can cause bad breakage! Ebony hair is the opposite of ours' We have to wash ours everyday or often to keep the oil out and they have to keep the moisture in their hair or it becomes brittle, Section the hair, then you spray each strand as you straighten with a hot iron. If the iron isn't hot enough the hair will not straighten, Just do sections at a time and it will get done! Good Luck!
    well i have really curly hair to the point were the curls are really tight, but I would straighten it in small section and get as close to making the rots straight as possible without going over it to the point where its burnt I hoped this helped and i usually subsitute pressing oil with a light weight grease or a sheen spray like '; Pink ';
    Wash it.

Dry it completely with a round brush and blowdryer.

Apply heat protecting spray and also straightening lotion

Take small secitions and run the flat iron over the hair until the hair is straight.
Unlike miss ignorant , answering idk, i think it would be best for you to see a stylist, even better if they specialize in that kind of hair. doing things on your own can be dangerous, trust me, i know from personal experience
    babyliss
Use either a flat iron or curling iron and start at the root and pull straight down. For great results do it in small sections. It is that easy.
Use a flat iron or curling iron but not if you dont have any grease or anything like that because it will badly damage the hair
I think black people look better natural or short hair. It seams like most black men can pul off the bald or short hair look
there are certain conditioners that can straighten also some shampoos that do the same
get a ceramic flat iron and some kind of hair holder. you gotta buy something. cuz ur 10 fingers and ur palm cant straighten it alone.
use a ftatting iron and dat will do the trick
    IDK
you need to ATLEAST have a flat iron.

    Black people Hair ?

how can i get my waves back after i cut off all my hair off when i grew it out. Ever since i cut it, it's been stickin up. help meBlack people Hair ?
Honey, ignore the ignorant. Kids aren't as bright as they think these days. To answer your question, there are a number of hair waxes and pomades that you can get like at Sally's (or you could go to a salon and buy them) which would keep your hair down. If you comb them through they might actually accentuate your natural wave and give you the beautiful head you want. Good luckBlack people Hair ?
WE are the idiots. Um, your question makes NO sense. WTF are you talking about? Do you mean waves as in the kind you get at the barbershop? Just go back to the barbershop to get it then. I've never in my life seen a black person with WAVES. I think you mean CURLS. If you want curls, just grow out your hair. You could also try putting a relaxer in it for a few minutes and rinsing it out to loosen the curl pattern. DO NOT APPLY RELAXER until you completely understand the instructions or you will burn your head off.
try using a texturiser like Pinks Shortlooks or Dark and Lovely Naturally
    Don't call Ethnic Hair ';Black people hair';
    i consider you very offensive
That was very rude. Isn't society smarter by now?

  • Why is black people hair so unmanageable? Does it blow sexily in the wind like mine?

I think NOT. Does there hair even move in the wind at all considering how thick it is? While there dark thick hair just stays there stiff in the wind, mine blows in the wind each golden strand as gorgeous as the next oneWhy is black people hair so unmanageable? Does it blow sexily in the wind like mine?
WOW. Try to remember that Karma sucks, so when you are going through chemo and your hair falls out...think about this moment! Why is black people hair so unmanageable? Does it blow sexily in the wind like mine?
Be careful of what you say, the truth will get you in deep trouble, or in some cases, dead.

when you get old and your hair thins and falls out

please read this yahoo question my pretty.
    Get some COMMON SENSE.

Your hair most likely flies everywhere in the wind whipping around your face and becoming a tangled mess. And I know many African Americans with straight hair.
Well black people are from a tropical environment were short thick hair is better suited for there atmosphere. Here in South Africa all the white people trim there hair, those who don't usually sweat too much in the hot sun, dehydrate and hallucinate just before they die. This might explain why so many sexy blonds are lacking when it comes to brain power.
I always wish i have a beautiful afro but cant because of my fluffy brown hair my austrian grandma gave me, i love afros, their beautiful. Oh i wish i have an afro!
Blacks have the same kind of hair white people have-but white ppl have it in their butt.
Undoubtedly, your hair is not the only thing that blows.

You really are a vain and mean spirited person.
Shut up, stupid. My hair moves when I do and it isn't unmanageable, its long and clean too. I wash it almost everyday and its fluffy and shiny jet black strands whip around my face beautifully in the wind.
why is yours like wet dog and also smell like wet dog?? are you retarded? or a lesbian?? you must be bored dear.
There are hundreds of intelligent questions on this web site

which can open a discussion that would lead to benefits to

us all. Why do you all keep answering to stupid questions

    You're delusional.
Here she goes trying to make herself believe she is beautiful again.
Actually, when my hair is unbraided, it blows in the wind. I also look kind of like Goku from Dragonball.
What up with the hair questions.....did you buy that and don't try to deny it most hair sold here in L.A. is for girls that looks like you..................and any way mine swings so much that I'm concerned from time to time that it may scratch my retina.......yeah I got it like that !!!!!!!
I have thick naturally wavy hair and it blows any hair blows when it is dry. My hair is jet black with no ';additives';like peroxide. I really find you hilarious. Actually I have a good friend on this site and they said that I need to read your questions. Tonight, I decided to and there is no sense to them at all. When you said blow in the wind, I honestly saw in my minds eye, you in your pick up truck going to your trailer. I could attack you but really in so many ways, I am so much better than you. You are hiding behind a forum, a computer screen. You are talking about your bleached hair like you just won the Nobel Peace Prize. One thing is vey obvious, even if you did not know. We are a very proud race and we stand up for what we believe in face to face and not hiding behind a computer screen. We could care less about your stringy hair. Black women are the most copied when it comes down to hair styles. You reek of jealousy. Let me explain to you what and who black women are and how you are the exact opposite. We speak our minds, we are not off aborting children, we have integrity, and most importantly through the ages we have virtue. Whether our hair is long, short, or whatever, it is not spread over every Pete, Paul, and Charles's pillow. We respect ourself. We definately do not waste our time with trivial matters like these. So, I am glad that you are happy. One more thing, only white people care about a dumb hair color. Next time come up with a intellegent argument and I will meet you with intellegence....if you can.
You evil, self centered, racist pig. You give the Swedes a bad name.

P.S I still think your really a man.
Your hair is thin and limp, nothing to brag about.

Clearly, your man left you for a black girl. Ha ha!
They do look better than you.Why do you keep fishing for compliments? You are pure evil.
***** get over yourself. You're not cute. Your man left you for a Black girl.
    Whoever you are, your mean.

This racism sparks others to lash out, clearly and that's ugly too.

This is never going to end. Just stop it and stop asking these bullsh*t questions. You are rude and it's not called for.

Go do something else with your time.
MY HAIR BLOWS IN THE WIND. FOR YOUR INFORMATION I AM BLACK AND MY HAIR IS VERY MANAGEABLE. WHY YOU WORRIED ABOUT OUR HAIR ANYWAY? AT LEAST WE DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING LICE.
The next time you decide to write about anything, be it black hair (which by the way is BEAUTIFUL), your own stringy hair, or any thing else please, PLEASE, please.....learn the proper words to use. There are three different spellings and ways to use the word there and they all sound the same. There...a place Their...showing possession They're...meaning they are. So while you are trying to convince yourself that you are all that, you can learn a lot from BLACKS. That was a freebie from a PROUD BLACK WITH LONG BOUNCY HAIR BLOWING IN YOUR FACE!

You obviously saw a black whose hair you thought looked better than yours!
If you be stuck in a hurricane.
You call black people's hair nappy. It is curly and somewhat static because it is not designed in cold places like Sweden. I disagree that their hair is unmanageable, I think it is sexy.
mine blows in the wind and probably has more volume then your's... but it's ok to hate on black people's hair just becuase your hair is dull and flat. White people get lice... on rare occasions do black people get it. Simple because they don't like dirty hair... well I guess it's a good thing I'm not white with bleached blonde hair with lice in it! I LOVE BEING BLACK AND I LOVE MY HAIR!!! Best believe you wouldn't say that to a black person's face... because i know this black person would punch you in the face and drag you by your blonde hair across the floor... that's why you're saying it online... it's ok to be afraid of black people... most blonde haired bimbos are!
Well aside from the lice and the only two hairstyles your hair can be put into, I guess it's ok

Not better than mine of course

I am half Asian and half Black so why don't i have black people hair?

my hair can be kinda curly when i grow it out but not black people hairI am half Asian and half Black so why don't i have black people hair?
when you are of 2 or more races its never the same ';mix'; the genes all get mixed together and how they come out no one knows...Its all just in the genes. A white person and a black person can have one black dominent baby and one white dominent...no way to know.I am half Asian and half Black so why don't i have black people hair?
When your cells were dividing and multiplying a fight was occurring amongst your genes. The more dominant (stronger) genes within your cells won the fights and dictated how you'd look. In the cells responsible for your hair type, the Asian genes proved to be stronger than the African genes and you were born with hair that has stronger Asian traits.

    - Pepper.
    Because you have asian hair.
because you are half Asian and half Black
why are you complaining?THE sale of hair straightener to hide the kink is staggering.you are a lucky man.
    Because you're a mix.
Cuz your part asian.. you got the asain hair.
you should just be happy with what you have

Do you think black people hair is ugly ?

i find it very ugly and rough. what do you think?Do you think black people hair is ugly ?
Well, my hair is ';unprocessed';, and I love it. I can wear it in a afro, braid it, or I can even straighten it, and wear it like it is in my avatar. Most of the time, I wear it in a afro/braid combo:

And sometimes I style it in a ';fro-hawk';, and I get a bunch of compliments.

Well that is a matter of opinion. Unless you are a stylist, how can you determine if it's rough? What do you mean by ugly (style, color,) I think black hair is very versatile. They can wear so many styles that other races can't. Braids for example, what would an Asian or white woman look like with braids?
    I find it beautiful.
being beauty or ugly depends on the person's conception and everything is relative so , it looks beautiful for me but for you man not
I don't like it at all. It's really not for me. It's too rough. I guess it's worse for black women. Black guys can just make cornrows or shave it off which isn't so bad.
Oh please. You are extremely disillusioned (do u know what that means?) and you sound like a hater. Dont be mad because your hair smells like a dirty dog when it gets wet. And dont be mad because you will probably be balding by the age of 40 because of how ';silky fine'; your hair is. And dont be mad because you cant do s.hit to your hair besides put disgusting mouse in it. And dont be mad because you have had lice five times and we cant get it. My hair is thick, wavy and falls down my back ****** and you will NEVER even begin to compete with me. So sit down and shut the hell up. Ignorant ho.e.
every.. and i mean EVERY white friend i have likes to rub my head. and it gets aggrivating. but i like my hair just fine and so do they apparently.
It depends on the other physical characteristics of the person, I think. Some people look good with hair like that (like that woman in the Hallmark commercial in which she sends the guy a card that plays ';Wild Thing';).

It may be easier to manage if it were straight, but then again, I don't know much about black people's hair. It's personal preference, I suppose.
I really don't care what you think, your probably not the prettiest person internally or externally. This is the hair that we are born with and for centuries we have been told by White supremacist that it is ugly, that's why you see so many Black women straightening and wearing weaves. My hair is not rough because I take care of it daily, I use natural conditioners that strengthen my hair not strip it down. If you don't like our hair type then don't look at it, go live in your close minded world with the rest of your shallow friends.

No I don't think that my hair is ugly. The great thing about our hair is that is it very versatile. It can be in it's natural state, curly or it can be made straight. You can have your opinion but not every black person's hair is ';rough';. That's like saying all white peoples' hair smells like wet dog when it's wet. It sound ridiculous right.
I like it in nifty little braids. It is coarser than whitie hair.
I THINK YOU NEED TO GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!
no, do you think flat asses are ugly
I don't think it is ugly at all. It is a different texture than Caucasian hair, it that's what you mean. So it looks a little different. But I have seem some beautiful 'black' (as you call it) women with gorgeous hair like Beyonce, Tyra Banks, Jennifer Hudson, Naomi Campbell, etc.
well at least black people DO NOT have to worry about LICE like you guys do!!!!!!!!!!!
Like anyones hair.....it all depends how you style it!
    No... I don't insult God's creations.
I think you have a problem.
You mean like fight promoter Don King's 'do. I think it looks pretty cool. Now, the god father of soul, James Brown (god rest his soul) had practically the coolest hair ever.
    Open you eyes.

    natural hair is NOT ugly.
I wonder if you have any Black friends or acquaintances. If you do, and it sounds like you do, why don't you ask them? Let them tell you what they think, after all you would be going to the source and to people with whom you are acquainted.

But I bet you wouldn't. You really wouldn't want to expose yourself as the racist you are. Keep on pretending to be the ';nice, polite and tolerant'; white girl that you think you are. But trust me, one day it is going to catch up with you.

Some people - of all ethnic groups - are into self hate. So yes, some Black, White, Asian, Hispanic... people may think their hair ugly (and their facial features too) so what? What does that prove?

It is people like you who perpetuate bigotry and animosity with your ignorance and stupidity.
I myself like all hair but whats really sexy is black bald men like Emmet Smith.

    Yes I like all hair.
i wouldn't want to have it, but if i did i would make it into a fro, because its natural and cool
I find you stupid and ignorant.
Nah. I find black people hair to be amazingly unique and versatile. Unlike most simple-minded peons, I don't let the media make my decisions for me.
beauty is in the eye of the beholder, thanks for sharing
i love my hair and its all really to so dont be hatin on it. and besides white people use weave too.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>If your a hairstylist or you know anything about black people hair can you help me out?
i can tell you one thing, he has so many products in his hair its insane! i love the real chance of love show by the way. its so funny! im guessing you are talking about chance. first thing, even though his hair is short, you can tell its has been relaxed. so if you want the fauxhawk he has going on, get your hair straightened. use gel to spike it up. the next thing is the cut. go to any professional barber shop to get your hair a nice design on it. and there you go!

How do you braid black peoples hair?

I can french braid white peoples hair but for some reason I can not seem to grasp braiding black peoples hair...are there any tips or suggestions on how to get me started or what I might be doing wrong? How do you braid black peoples hair?
I think the volume that afro textured hair can present could challenge the dexterity of a hairstylist who is more used to straigher hair that gathers into a smaller mass.

This, based on my attempt to braid white, Indian and some hispanic hair types after years of being used to only mine and my sister's hair textures. I was surprised at my awkwardness considering I'd expected the hair to be much easier than mine to handle.

I've heard similar experiences from white moms of biracial kids. (Haven't heard it that much black or Hispanic moms)

Also, if the hair is afro textured, it 'moves' while being handled. Combing the hair stretches the spring, holding the hair also temporarily straightens the springs - as soon strands are released, the springs reassert their natural shape, sometimes, changing the shape of the section already braided.

It might help to insert small pins as you go. I think that as you gain experience, there's no longer need for the 'crutch' but until then, pins and clips to hold the hair in place could help.

Check out motowngirl.com and nappturality.com for more tips.

Hope this helps. How do you braid black peoples hair?
Don't think it's too different; you just have to be a lot more gentle because curly/kinky/black hair is a lot more brittle than any other textured hair and pulling hard on it means you might be breaking the strands of the hair. Just braid like you would braid any other person's hair, but like i said, be a lot more gentle.

  • Black people hair?

why is is that always black girls or just any black person has that type of hair, like its really stiff, and some of them need special care for it, its different from other people's hair, their's is just really stiff and stuff I can't describe it, (no offense)Black people hair?
Because thats just what african hair is like. Like the way asian hair is usually black/brown and really straight. Its just genetics.Black people hair?
Not all black peoples hair is stiff. A lot of people have soft curly hair similar to a brunette with curly hair. Some peoples hair is stiff because they use the wrong things on their hair. Everyone's hair is different. People with curly hair need special things for their hair. People with thin hair need special things for their hair. All of our hair is different. Have you seen the hair aisles? Most of it is not catered towards african american hair but there are still a ton of products all being used for different kinds of hair on all races. It is just how we are born.
I have ';black people hair'; and mine is not stiff. Its down my back and has plenty of bounce. Our hair is typically curly---it is not African or Africa hair as many people have described it. African hair is typically much more corse. African American hair is the result of many years of racial mixing and good old genetics.

We do take care of our hair differently because it requires certain care if you want it to look a certain way. Just like if you have curly hair and want it straight you have to make sure its blown dry. We, as in the women, get our hair pressed, meaning it is straightened with a hot comb and then curled. It keeps it straight. We can then put rollers in it or wrap it up at night. Our hair does not get as oily or dirty as other hair types do; it takes much longer for our hair to get ad oily as your hair might get in one day. Thus we get our hair straightened about once a week.

Most of us start getting our hair done when we are still small and since our mother's do the same its not strange to us at all.
you know i don't really know i was always wondering the same thing it must be hard to take care of
its what african hair is like. any group of people that is descended from africans has people with that type of extra frizzy hair, whether you call it ';nappy'; or ';pelo malo'; or whatever
i have a black friend and i asked her that...she said that her mom had it, her grand mom had it, and great grandmother had it......so i guess it s genetic
its african hair, read your science books

Do white stylist know how to black peoples hair?

I mean im not racist or anything, Im just talking about a majority of white people, do they know how to do it. When I went to the white stylist all she could do was put do a roller set. Are they trained to do it?Do white stylist know how to black peoples hair?
no they dont....they dont know that our hair needs grease and stuff coz most mexicans and whites WASH THERE HAIR everday soooooooo yea if you werent raised with blacks i wouldnt think you'd understand but some do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Do white stylist know how to black peoples hair?
I guess you would be better at doing something from experience, but im sure there are some white hairdressers that know how to do black hair.
Ideally an hair stylist should know how to style any type or hairs. However if she is not knowing, then it is our duty to let her know.

It will be good if you gift her a hair styling book which includes hair styles for blacks.

Better take positive actions instead of complaining. I am sure you will do something to become an example for others.

Only thing i ever did was to cut black boyfriends of mine, hair. He did like it. Nothing else, tho...ask in a salon some white stylist, i am white also, but not a stylist.
Are you saying that white stylists

don't know how to color someones hair.

Why judge an entire race base on one

    incident.Doesn't make sense
I'm mixed and I got great hair tips from white people about avoiding bad ingredients in hair products and how natural products are the best.It saved my life=).I went to a black hair dresser months ago and I didn't like how my natural hair was not handle gently.I think it is great that she still did your hair even though she is not experience in that type of hair. Are you natural or relaxed because it makes a difference too in this discussion.Treated black relaxed hair shouldn't be hard for anyone to do.Any race can do any type of natural hair if they want to.
I believe that a person has to be specifically trained in the care of black peoples hair.
I would think that most people going through training to be a cosmetologist are trained on all hair types, but that being said, I know alot of white hair stylists that would not be comfortable doing anything major (permanent, coloring, extensions, etc.)to a black person's hair because they don't have much experience with that type of hair. Heck, there are white stylists that aren't comfortable doing certain things to another white person's hair...like my girl....she doesn't do styling for special occasions because I have long hair.

I think it's all about what level of experience they've had and how confident they are in their ability. If I were black, I would go to a black stylist simply because she could understand my hair needs better. Kind of like going to a male gyn doctor....he's still a doctor, and he's qualified, but he's never been a woman.
it's more about the salon and it's clientele than the stylist. it depends on whatever the stylist has experience with. i work with white stylists who can do ';black hair'; and i work with black stylists who can do ';white hair';.

    try not to generalize people.

What kind of effects does salt water have on black peoples hair?

I am a black female and in school for marine biology. I am wondering what kind of effects the salt water will have on my hair.

I am a life guard and usually in the chlorine water almost everyday. I do not have dry hair and i have a relaxer. What kind of effects does salt water have on black peoples hair?
Salt water and chlorine will have the same effect it has on black hair as it does on any other kind of hair, it will damage and dry it out. Wash your hair as soon as you can, use moisturizers, deep conditioners, and be gentle with your hair when it's wet and you should do fine. How can i make my straight hair look like black peoples hair?

I'm not trying to be racist. I am half African and half Mexican but i inherited straight hair so i simply want to know how to make it look like black peoples hair? I am a man so tips for short hair? Sorry i don't really know what to call African hair wavy or curly or what lolHow can i make my straight hair look like black peoples hair?
get a tight perm like when they use tiny rollers to permanatly keep ur hair curledHow can i make my straight hair look like black peoples hair?
You can't change your hair texture unless you get a curly light perm or S Curl. It's kinda of like a black girl getting a perm but instead the curly s curl makes your hair curly but it's really hairs to keep up with it cuz your gunna have to so it every month or every time your hair grows. But it's impossible for you to get straight hair and make it look like a black person, even the s curl will probably just put a lil waves in it but that's it. Sorry

Can White People have Black People Hair?

you mean super curly? a fro? yesCan White People have Black People Hair?
Hair is hair!Hair type is a result of the shape of the hair follicles. Both hair is made of protein. So the answer is yes if they have the same follicle shape. Can White People have Black People Hair?
I will put it this way, They both need a perm or straightener if its hard to comb which is not necessarily true in some cases.
    yes. surely they can.

but first... can you define black people hair for me?

    what separates the two?
What do you mean...nappy hair? Sure if you're a 1/2 breed.
    yes

How to dye black peoples hair blonde by using homemade stuff?

I'm african american and i bought so much dye stuff to dye my hair. but it doesn't work! is there a way to dye my hair with homemade stuff? How to dye black peoples hair blonde by using homemade stuff?
if you are african american i wouldn't dye it blonde. :-DHow to dye black peoples hair blonde by using homemade stuff?
Silly! That's because you didn't bleach it first! Any race - no matter which one - that has dark hair - to acheive an extremely light color has to bleach!! When you bleach, it strips your natural hair color and leaves the base color for all hair colors. Orange. And then you proceed to dyeing over the orange with the new lighter color!!

Liz M is wrong btw. You CAN dye your hair using in-store products. It's just that you have to bleach your hair first or else THEN they won't work.

And to actually argument that, my sister is black and has naturally black hair. She bought a super red highlighting hair dye at walmart and I helped her with it and it dyed her hair the exact color on the box!! Like Corri said, you just have to buy according to what type of hair it's made for. She was very accurate when she said there are types of dyes made specifically for african-americans.
i am wondering if you REALLY mean stuff like around the house. peroxide will change your hair but i think it will damage your hair. the best result it to get it professionally done. my sister kept trying to dye her hair blonde and it eventually fell out and i mean out. as in she had to start over. U might not want to pay but get it professionally done. or go to a BLACK hairstore and buy something called kaleidscope.. i think thats how its spelled but its a powder that you mix with a developer but the clerk can explain everything and it is so easy. mix the two things together, put on hair and watch it turn and wash it out....
I wouldnt use anything from under the kitchen sink to color your hair. what kind of stuff did you get? If you got it at walmart or something like a box kit it's not going to work. I would go to a beauty supply store and buy your color there. You might need a developer with a high volume. Like 30 or 40 Vol. developer. Box colors only have 20 Vol. and that's not strong enough for really thick/course hair. Good Luck and what ever you do dont pour Clorox on your head...
You see 1stly u shudnt have dyed ur hair.....it wud not be much fashionabl with ur skin tone.

Nextly, u shud hav bleached ur hair at first and applied dye or color to it.

3rdly, as like a home remedy u can try applying henna mixed with yoghurt and cofee powder, it will give u a reddish tint to ur locks.

    best of luck.
No! There are products made for African American hair, if used properly they do work. Sally's has a line for your hair type %26amp; you can use any dyes they carry. Also there are specialty stores that carry your hair type of product.
Nope. I wouldn't try it. You'll end up with a mess. If you want something different, do it right and go to a professional.
hmm i dunno if that works cause it might turn out like ornage or somethingg weird get a hairdreeser to do it professionally
    why......blonde....seriously though??

and all that stuff is just messing up your hair.
just get a weave in any color.

im white/asian %26amp; use fake hair.

    love ittt. =]

  • I have really thick curly dry hair..my friends say black people hair?

what kind of shampoo should i use to get it extremely straight and not too expesive please..I have really thick curly dry hair..my friends say black people hair?
You can't really get a shampoo to make your hair really straight but you can use a shampoo that makes your hair moist but not greasy like black people hair. This might sound crazy but my cousins use horse shampoo. 100 percent safe on humans and keeps your hair shiny and thick.I have really thick curly dry hair..my friends say black people hair?
Lol @ Black people hair... Thats interesting.

FYI To your friends, black people aren't the only ethnic background w/ curly and/or dry hair. Every ethnic background has that...

Anyway AS a woman of color... There is no shampoo to change the texture of your hair. Only chemicals and straightening products as the previous answer depicted.

BTW What ever your hair texture, be happy w/ yourself and what makes YOU special. At least your hair is versatile!!! Who wants to look the same anyway!!!
I would say CHI shampoo, conditioner and hair serum

    I have wavy latina hair.

If you have Sam's Club you can get the 3 piece set for 21.99 plus tax
No shampoo will make hair straight. It's either Chemicals or Heat.

Does black people hair produce oils or do i have to apply it to my hair using hair moisturizers.?

As a matter a fact black people naturally produce the oil in their hair/scalp. And hair looks better natural without the greasy stuff.Does black people hair produce oils or do i have to apply it to my hair using hair moisturizers.?
everyone has a certain amount of oil that is produced by the sebaceous gland but that depends on your body, i suggests drinking a lot of water, we tend to have a misconception about oil and moisturizing the hair., yes oil is good for shine, but hydrating the hair is the key to combat dryness, try dudley's creme protein conditioner, it moisturizes as well as strengthens then before you style your hair use a light oil for extra shine. licensed for 12 years and african american hope this helps you out. remember, too much oil will stop your hair from being nice and bouncy.Does black people hair produce oils or do i have to apply it to my hair using hair moisturizers.?
    all hair produces oil

you may apply oils and moisturizers to make your hair healthier if it is dry or brittle
Everyone hair, body ect. produces oils, you can add additional moisturizer if needed.
they produce oil but sometimes they apply oil into their hair
All hair gradually produces oils. Some people's oil glands are more active than others. Some people need to wash their hair everyday, and others don't. Also, your hair will get oilier during puberty; especially if you are active in sweaty sports. Maybe your hair produces oil slower than some people. Personally, that's a good thing. Washing then blowdrying your hair every morning is a pain. :)
It depends on the grade of hair you have...If it is kinky yes u will need some pink lotion moisturizer, but if you have a finer grade the oil in which your hair produces should be fine, just go with a lighter oil sheen. It also depends on the season.. your hair is just like your skin in the summer months you tend to sweat more producing dirts and oils... in the winter your pores aren't as open so I would opt for a light hair grease. But it all balls down to the grade of hair that u have
it produces oil, but you can use oil sheen on the top of your hair

Black (people) hair: blending natural hair with weave?

    hey.

i wanna get a wavy/curly weave and leave a little hair out at the top and on the sides. how do i blend my har to match the curly texture? does anyone have pictures of how it can be blended? thanx!Black (people) hair: blending natural hair with weave?
Well, you have a couple choices. Either you can continue to straighten and curl the hair the you leave out, or you can get a weave that looks more ';natural';. The second is probably the better option because constantly straightening and curling the hair you leave out will damage it. Do you still wanna have your edges when you take the weave out???

Is it true that as God's original people, black peoples hair was made to spiral, giving it special powers?

I overheard a conversation this guy was saying that our DNA spirals, our galaxy spirals, and energy waves spiral and that the spiral of black peoples hair is like antennae that can channel natural knowledge and energy from the earths energy and magnetic field. Have you ever heard of anything like this?Is it true that as God's original people, black peoples hair was made to spiral, giving it special powers?
lol this is funny never heard of this but to the who luvs me chick there is a such thing as black IsraelitesIs it true that as God's original people, black peoples hair was made to spiral, giving it special powers?
Sounds like this guy can be generalized to one of those New Age jumbo mumbo. You can believe him if you want, but that's definitely not something that was established 2000 years ago nor beyond.

It didn't make sense either as bacteria have circular dna, and they can harness nature's natural power source just fine and can kill people.
Where does it say in the bible that blacks (or whites or whatever) are god's original people? Sounds to me like a bunch of crap. I can't stand it when people say their own race is better then another.
Were you in an asylum when you heard this, because only a lunatic would come up with that kind of ';theory';.
no, im a Christian and God's people were the Israelites... their hair is curly just because. there are others with really curly hair too ya know
    LOL

Girl, you need to put down the crack pipe.
Kids, if you're reading this, this is precisely why you should not do drugs. They can and WILL harm your brain!

Does salons that mainly do white peoples hair do black people hair?

it would be illegal to refuse anyone based on race.Does salons that mainly do white peoples hair do black people hair?
Usually. But Ethnic and Caucasion hair are a bit different, So it's always best to go to a Hairstylist, who knows HOW to take care of, and how to do ethnic hair.

And just to add, after reading one of the girls comment about hairstylists having to know how to do every type of hair..Not true. Many hairstylists specialize in certain types of hair, or didn't take any continuing classes on hair. Some don't know how to take care of Ethnic hair, or even long and curly hair. Vice versa, too. It's just what they concentrated more on.Does salons that mainly do white peoples hair do black people hair?
they do both but if you have really curly afro Caribbean hair you are best phoning about good hairdressers and ask if they have anybody that specializes in afro hair my friend has afro hair and it is very curly and at an ordinary hairdresser may not have the skills to do as good a job as a specialist in afro hair she pays a bit more but gets a really good cut she has had it done at a local high street hairdressers in the past and it was all uneven she goes to a chain hairdressers called cheynes look it up and see if you have one local to you
Most of them actually do, but many black people would see

only white hairstylist and think that they don't know how to do

black hair. But if they had a license they have to know how to

do any kind of hair. It's easy just to ask them.
    oh.are you black?

    i guess they do.

Well, they are very racist if they dont and i believe they can be sued.

    Don't worry.

No matter our languages, skin colours, cultures,we are the same.

    Just somebody from planet earth.
it depend on what kind of hair they have as white people can also have affro hair
depends on if they know how to care for it and if they have the products for it
go to supercuts, they do all kinds of hair
call up and ask...people who do hair usually do all kinds of hair.

Can I get black people hair?

Im a male I am half black half asian but i have some what curly hair. . Is it possible for me to change my hair to make it 100 percent black hair like curlyCan I get black people hair?
Ha! this is a first. Lately I've been seeing blacks ask how they can get ';white people hair,'; lol.

Blacks have different types of curly hair, but for most it's tightly curled hair. I've never heard of anything that will make your hair curlier than it is. Usually, people want to loosen their curls, not tighten them. There are different types of texturizers, one that loosens the curl pattern and one that gives your hair curls, but your hair is already curly and you don't want to loosen it and you already have curly hair, so a texturizer probably wouldn't work.

Just learn to love what you have because you are beautiful no matter what! Can I get black people hair?
you could get it permed but i dont think thats very good for your hair, %26amp; trust me, i am black grl, and have an extreme fro, it aint as much fun as it sounds
Absolutely not you cannot change the texture of your hair I'm sorry.
No. Love yourself for who you are as you're the only you that you've got.
    try a texturizer

What was the black people hair styles in the 80's?

Wow!! I definitely have to think back on this one. Some of the popular hairstyles in the 80's for African Americans included the Jerry Curl, the High-top Fade (like 5-6 inches high), Fades with a design on the back or the side of the head, Ducktails (a small patch of hair left the back of the head), Basketweaves (girls hair braided in the form of a basket in front of their heads), Feathered Bangs, the Reverse Bob (where one side was cut short and the other side was about shoulders length), and long ';Dookey'; Braids (braids women wore that where very very very thick). What was the black people hair styles in the 80's?
Afros, Jerry Curls, fades, and finger waves! What was the black people hair styles in the 80's?
Not nearly as cool as the Afros of the 70's
70's had the afro. 80's had jheri curls, dookie braids.
Shut yo mouth neeguh I wuff mai beoald head.... Oh wait that's the 2000's.

In the 80's it must have been 'Word up my soul brother' with a giant afro.
    The 70's had huge afros.

By the 80's, there were dreadlocks and greased curls (think Rick James).
Wasn't that the ';Afro';? Then they started ';The Do's'; like they wear now pretty much.
Lots of braids and beads or chemically straightened hair. No afros - the style was to try and hide the ';black'; hair by keeping it under wraps.
jherri curls, hi-top fades w/ duck tails.

big hair was big for women as well, bangs
    Afros.
    indiana jones hats lol
    AFROS MAN AFROS
It was definately NOT afro's. Afros ended in the late 70s and were replaced by the curls. I know this becuase I had one until 2000. in the 80s people told me to get a jerry curl then they (fro's) came back in the 90s. jerry curls in the early 80s then in the late 80s flat top. also the shag and short hair for men with Vs in the back and parts. Butters, small waves. The same for women. there are always standards like short hair, braids... then there is some new stuff too...
    they had BIG afros!
The hi top box! For men, and some women, at least. SOmetimes they'd wear a hair pic or a comb in it.
    It was afros Ma brother..

Tha biggest hair in town got the free pimp..
    Jeri curls, weaves %26amp; braids.
    Biiiiigggg afros my man.
    Maybe afro's? XD
';the_lips'; must have been BORN in the 80's because afros went out in the 70s, you dork. And if that was intended to be a ';racist'; comment, shame on you for even opening your friggin' mouth.

Then again, it would have been better if afros were in, because it was (cringe, gasp) those horrible, dripping, sweet-smelling Jheri curls that were all the rage back then. Yuck. Relaxed hair was getting popular, some chicks were still rocking cornrows, French braids, but mostly for dudes, it was either tall, boxy close-cropped ';fades'; or for chicks, it was springy set curls.

Yep. Those were happening times, ';the _lips';. You should have been there.
    huge natural afro.
    Afros died in the 70s.

In the early 80's it we wore something called a shag. (a mullet for black men) Some processed their hair. (as you can see, Al Sharpton still does!)

    The mid 80s we wore closely cut afros called ';naturals'; or ';half-fros';

The end of the 80s started the ';fade'; era, which is close on the sides (sometimes to the skin) and faded upward to a close crop.
jerry curl jerry curl!! afro and uh cornrows?? i dunno. i wasn't born in the 80s!!!!
in the early '80's, afros were the thing. After those lost their appeal, many black people would straighten or perm their hair. Some would oil it down with Jeri Curl. Yuck. By the late '80's you'd see lifts and fades on guys and curly bangs on girls. Think MC Hammer and Salt n Pepa or the Cosby show...
I think it was basicly afros
    Dreads
pressed hair . You know like with a pressing comb and tight curls at the end. Buns and jerry curls. that what my aunts hair looks like in all the picturesof her holding me as a baby. She was really stylin and profilin.
    the same as now

  • Why comes black peoples hair grows slower than white people?

It doesn't always...people of all races have hair that grow slow. Because of black people's unique curl pattern it appears that their hair grows slower but the real reason their hair is usually short is because they tear it out when they're combing. Care must be taken that it's moisturized and combed gently-and brushes are usually bad too. I think the biggest reason most don't know these things is because of the old wives tales and stuff that are still around today about hair.

P.S. David (above me) The correct way of saying that would be: ';Because WE white people'; not ';because US white people';.Why comes black peoples hair grows slower than white people?
i guess you have proof of this.

hair texture and length are hereditary however, growth can be enhanced by proper diet, hair nourishment and cleanliness. don't expect short hair to miraculously grow down your back if its not in your dna.Why comes black peoples hair grows slower than white people?
It really doesn't. It grows at the same rate but appears to grow much slower because of the curl pattern. I guess you could say it takes the scenic route to length
Ethnic Hair does not grow any slower than anyone elses. It all has to do with your DNA, products you use as well as the frequency of the trims you receive to contribute to your hair growth.
    my hair grows fast
genetics creates many differences in people but it is not necessarily white or black - my hair grows really slow whilemy sisters grows quickly - we are obviously both of the same race
I am a hairstylist and if you will get some Nioxin vitamins from a salon or distributor you hair will grow wayyyy fast.

I have sold a lot of those to women of color and they keep raving about how fantastic the product is. I am Caucasian and have very coarse thick hair...and hello it has room to grow...

    ';Those who CAN'T teach %26amp; Those who CAN just do it';
    it dosen't. it's all genetic...
lReading all your answers above this one I just had to LOL, because it never cease to amaze me at how ignorant we can be, and what we really don't know and try to push off on someone as factual. Rate of hair growth depends on a number of factors the 1st being what your hairs technical texture is, and it sounds as if your TEXTURE is coarse which means that coarse hair grows out of the scalp in a very tight and circular form, and this growth patterns makes your hair follicle extremely hard to push through the surface of your scalp which in turns gives you ';curly'; hair TYPE. Most Caucasian hair TEXTURE is either fine or medium, which means that their hair grows out from the scalp in a flat form, and this growth pattern allows hair follicles to grow out through the surface of the scalp area with ease, thus allowing hair to grow rapidly. The TYPE of hair that most Caucasians have is ';straight'; Also it depends on whether or not you're of mixed origin. Hair growth can also depend on your diet, environmental conditions, as well as medical conditions, and how proper the condition of your scalp area is maintained. Thanks for asking, your question and trying to find an intelligent answer, instead of assuming its simply because of the color of your skin.
wat kind of question is dat maybe cuz were unique
    I didn't think it did!

Where'd you get that idea from?

Your hair grows as Your DNA dictates.
I have not cut my hair (Besides a trim every now and then) in 12 years and it doesnt even reach my butt yet, and I am white. My nails grow really slow, too. Its genetics and diet.
cause us white folk can speak English properly maybe?
because hair is racist, call the NAACP and demand more special 'rights'
It maybe b莽ause of genes, but also as darker people have more melanin?
Why comes? Does that make sense?
i don't know but im balck and mixed wit indian so my hair grows fast
Black folks come, orginaly, for a very hot place on Earth...Africa. So they don't want much hair...after generation of living there, the body adapts to not grow so much hair so fast. The same is true of all the ilsland peoples of the world, as well as central/south american natives.

White folks come from cold places, so need lot of hair

They can and WILL harm your brain!

well if this is a serious question your born with it or you simply just perm it to make it ';coarse';.How can you have black people hair?? is their a certain shampoo, or go to a salon or somethin?
what exactly is your definition of ';black people hair';?

In addition, always research your assumptions before dispelling your statements to the viewing public, so your statements would not be predetermined as ignorant.
    word
Its what your born with! ^^

Why can't black people have white people hair, and white people have black people hair?

Are you blaming white folks for the genetic make-up of black folks? Maybe Bush is to blame for THAT too.LOL!Why can't black people have white people hair, and white people have black people hair?
Go live in the south (Louisiana, Alabama, etc.) and you will find what you seek. Why can't black people have white people hair, and white people have black people hair?
Why are some people so stupid? If hair lotion was the cause and not genetics why is your hair still the way it is? I guess becuase you are too lazy to use the lotion? Quit blaming white people for all your problems.
****** got dat ***** hair and white people go that white folks stuff. Its probably cuz they didn't give us ****** no hair lotion when we was workin them damn plantations!

Would olive oil let black people hair grow faster&healthy?

Olive oil is good for your hair as long as you do not use a hair dryer or iron.

Cover your dry hair with olive oil before bed, rinse out in the morning, let dry naturally.

Safflower Oil is also good for your hair ...

    For Dry Hair:

Hair normally has a moisture content of approximately 10%. If your hair鈥檚 moisture content drops below this level the key is to increase the hair鈥檚 ability of attract and retain moisture. This is accomplished by using moisturizers. Good one have ';humectants'; that not only replace lost moisture but actually attract moisture and retain it in the cortex of the hair. Essential fatty aids (EFA鈥檚) are great moisturizers. One of the best and most cost effective essential fatty acids is safflower oil. It is the kind you can buy to cook with. It is rich in EFA鈥檚. The scalp produces the best EFA鈥檚 called sebum. The problems is once the hair grows past the neck line or does not have direct contact with the scalp the scalps natural oils can not be utilized throughout the hair shaft. At this point you can manually replace the lost EFA鈥檚 by:

Placing 1 or 2 drops of safflower oil in your palms and rub them together.

There should only be enough to make your hands ';shine'; in the light.

Carefully take your hair (while dry) and ';scrunch'; the small amount of oil to the ENDS first and work toward the scalp.

    Leave this in your hair.

1-2 drops of safflower oil on dry hair is so small, you won鈥檛 notice it is there. By doing the above as often as necessary, will ensure your dry hair will have the proper amount of humectants to attract and retain moisture. The key is a small amount will go a long way.Would olive oil let black people hair grow faster%26amp;healthy?
